Infertility Awareness Week

Resolve is an organization that started National Infertility Awareness Week (NIAW) back in 1989. Their goal is to raise awareness about the infertility and encourage the public to understand their reproductive health. This is the first year I'm participating in NIAW. I'm planning on doing a balloon release this weekend with Rachael, you can find her over at Unnaturally Knocked Up.

Like many others out there struggling with infertility, I had no idea what Resolve or NIAW was. The more I read, the more excited I got. Each year they have a theme and this year's theme is Resolve to know more. One of their examples was, resolve to know more about when to see a fertility specialist. I had to laugh! I read this example AFTER I saw a specialist, where we finally got answers this past Thursday and found out I have PCOS. Why did we wait so long? I'll never know, but what I do know is that I want to spread the word and raise awareness.

So for all you women out there who think you're crazy because your OB/GYN keeps telling you to wait and relax, or you haven't had a period in over a year, or Provera didn't work for you, or your BBT chart looks like a roller coaster from hell showing no ovulation spike, or any other unexplained occurrences...SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A SPECIALIST!!!

answers are only a phone call away...
